Who We Are
Palmool ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered storytelling platform. Palmool lets parents and guardians clone their own voice and create personalized stories starring their children, which are narrated in that voice and enriched with games and rewards. Our services are available through the Palmool mobile application (iOS and Android) and the website at Palmool.com.
We handle voice recordings and information about children, which is sensitive. We are committed to protecting your family's privacy and handling your data responsibly and transparently.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Palmool:
- Account information — email address used to create and manage your account, and authentication data.
- Child profiles — the name, age and interests (for example favorite animals or themes) you enter for your child so stories can be personalized.
- Children's photos — photos of your child that you upload to your child's profile or to a story. These photos are stored in our system.
- Voice recordings and cloned voices — the voice samples you record and the voice model created from them (your "cloned voice"). Both are stored in our system until you delete them.
- Generated stories — the stories created for your account, including their text, narration audio and any images, together with the choices you made to create them. Stories are stored in our system and kept in your library.
- Game and reward data — stars, badges, streaks, unlocked characters and listening history.
- Usage data — how you interact with the app, features used, time spent, and device information (OS version, device type).
- Payment information — subscription purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details directly.
We do not ask for a child's surname, address, school or government ID. Please do not include such details in child profiles or story prompts. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the Palmool service.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create your cloned voice and narrate stories with it.
- To generate personalized stories, narration and illustrations for your child, and to keep them available in your library.
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Palmool app, including games, rewards and bedtime features.
- To process and manage your subscription and billing through Apple or Google.
- To send important service-related communications (e.g., account updates, new features).
- To keep the Service safe, prevent misuse and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To improve the quality of our stories, AI models, and user experience.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your child's photos, your voice recordings or your cloned voice to train AI models without your explicit consent.
Voice Cloning
Voice cloning creates a synthetic copy of a person's voice from the recordings they provide. To protect you and others:
- You may only clone your own voice, or the voice of a person who has given you clear permission to do so.
- A cloned voice is linked to your account and can only be used to narrate stories inside Palmool.
- Cloned voices are never shared with other users, sold, or made available for use outside the Service.
- You can delete a voice sample or cloned voice at any time from within the app, and we will remove it from our systems.
A cloned voice is biometric-like personal data. Where required by law, we process it only with the explicit consent of the person whose voice it is.
Children's Privacy and Photos
Palmool is designed to be used by parents and guardians. It is not directed at children, and children should not create accounts. Child profiles are created and managed only by an adult account holder, who confirms that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, or have their permission, and who consents to the processing described in this policy on the child's behalf.
Photos and profile details of children are stored in our secure system so stories can be personalized. They are visible only to the account holder, are not shown publicly, and are not shared with other users. We use them only to provide the Service. You can view, edit or delete any child profile and photo at any time, and deleting a profile also deletes its photos.
If you believe a child has created an account or that we hold information about a child without a parent's or guardian's consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure). We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest.
Photos of children, voice recordings, cloned voices and generated stories are stored with restricted access. Access is limited to authorized team members who need it to operate and maintain the service, and we regularly review our security practices.
Third-Party Services
We may share limited data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate Palmool. These include:
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting, storage and backend infrastructure.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription and payment processing.
- AI providers — voice synthesis, story generation and image processing used to create your cloned voice and personalized stories. Only the data needed for the request is sent.
- Analytics tools — anonymized usage data to understand how the app is used and improve features.
All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely, only for the purposes we specify, and not to use it to train their own models.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data and your child's data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and your child.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account, child profiles, photos, cloned voices, generated stories and associated data.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent to voice cloning or to the storage of a child's photos at any time.
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to certain processing activities, such as analytics.

Data Retention
We retain your account data, child profiles, photos, voice recordings, cloned voices and generated stories for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide you with the service. You can delete individual items at any time.
If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal data, including child photos, cloned voices and stories, within 7 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes. Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Palmool after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
